Introduction to Thought Academy
Hello and welcome to Thought Academy! I want to use this opportunity to introduce myself and briefly discuss Thought Academy’s mission. I hope this will resonate with you and you will want to watch us on YouTube and read us regularly here so we can grow together.
My name is Gabriel Wilensky and I am the founder and President of Thought Academy, a website dedicated to teaching people how to think critically and rationally. I have many years of experience helping people become better critical thinkers through coaching, critical thinking articles, and the development of tests to measure various thinking skills.
Becoming better thinkers is one of the key topics of my forthcoming book, Fuel for Thought. I am also the author of the books Six Million Crucifixions and Two Dozen Thoughts, both of which show a particularly pernicious consequence of abandoning reason.
Additionally, I am a software engineer responsible for many software products, several of which won multiple different awards including two Codies, the software industry’s equivalent of the Oscars. Several of my software products received widespread media attention and are used by tens of millions of people worldwide.

We believe that a world in which we apply reason and careful thought to everything we do, will be a better world.
We believe that when we understand critical thinking concepts and master reasoning skills, and apply them to our everyday lives, we’ll be more successful.
We believe that learning to evaluate arguments will make us better in our relationships, both professionally and socially.
We believe that a world free of superstition will be a better place for everyone, and more conducive to progress.
We believe that when you live by the tenets of a sound philosophy of life, you’ll live a fuller, more joyous life.
Let me ask you,
- Do you want to be in control of your life?
- Do you want to know what goals are worth pursuing and which ones are not?
- Do you want to recognize when someone is manipulating or misleading you?
- Do you want to know how to better argue your points, or recognize fallacious thinking?
- Do you want to know how to think critically?
We are here to help you achieve all this by providing you with the tools and guidance you need. Our goal is to provide you with what you need to choose, adopt and live by the tenets of a philosophy of life, as well as give you the tools to improve your critical thinking and reasoning skills.
But we will also discuss other topics that will be interesting and important to freethinkers.

But equally as importantly, you’ll also avoid the very high risk of misliving your life. What this means is spending your life chasing goals that aren’t worthwhile or, conversely, of pursuing worthwhile ones, but in an ineffective manner, and thus, failing to achieve them.
By becoming a better thinker you will be able to make better decisions, You will have a better understanding of the world we live in, and you will achieve better results in life, enhance your relationships with people, and improve your job performance.

I think it’s a worthy goal to create a better world by helping people to think critically. Most people usually don’t realize their ways of thinking is impacting their lives in ways they might not really care for. Usually, it is not until something really painful happens that we awaken to the need to change the way we do things. I think you the questions you’re asking about the results people get from the decisions they make would wake them up to this need. Maybe we should make bumper stickers of these questions to wake us 🆙😁
